Best Bars and Nightlife in and Around Florence Township New Jersey

Florence Township sits on the Delaware River in Burlington County and takes in two main sections, Florence and the historic company town of Roebling. It is a quiet place at night. The township has one craft brewery and a handful of casual spots, and most of the bars people drive to are in the towns next door: Bordentown City, Hamilton, Trenton and the farm country around Columbus. Here is what I found in Florence and what is a short drive away, checked in September 2026.

In Florence Township

• Subculture Artisan Ales, 11 West Second Street, Florence: The township's own craft brewery, in the Florence section a short walk from the Florence Township Public Boat Ramp. The taproom pours brewery-only releases and special tappings, and the brewery keeps its outside distribution small, so the taproom is the main place to try its beer. The events calendar has included trivia, karaoke, music bingo, live music, food trucks and "Pints & Plates" nights with Florence and Roebling pizzerias Rocco's and Palermo's. Posted hours are Wednesday and Thursday 5 to 10:30 p.m., Friday 3 to 10:30 p.m., Saturday 1 to 10:30 p.m. and Sunday noon to 6 p.m., closed Monday and Tuesday. Details at Subculture.

Florence also has a local pizza scene of its own. The township's business spotlight lists Rocco's Pizza at 312 West Front Street and Groovy Pizza & Café at 312 Broad Street in Florence, Mario and Franks 1 Pizzeria on Route 130, and Palermo's Restaurant & Pizzeria at 49 Main Street in Roebling.

Both sections of the township have River LINE light rail stations, one in Florence and one in Roebling. Bordentown is the next stop north of Roebling and Burlington Towne Centre is the next stop south of Florence, which puts the two nearest downtowns one stop away. Plan the ride home before you go: the River LINE generally does not run after about 10 p.m. except on Saturday nights, so check NJ TRANSIT's current schedule at njtransit.com.

Nearby: Pubs and Taverns in Bordentown City

Bordentown City's Farnsworth Avenue is the closest walkable downtown to Florence, with pubs, restaurants and shops along a few blocks.

• Old Town Pub, 135 Farnsworth Avenue, Bordentown City: The building was The Farnsworth House for years. It was renovated in 2017 and reopened as Old Town Pub under new owners, who kept the history of the building. The ground floor bar runs a 30-tap beer and wine system and an upstairs dining room has its own 20-tap bar, with pub food made in house. There is outdoor seating and a free parking lot beside the building.

• HOB Tavern, 146 Second Street, Bordentown City: HOB stands for Heart of Bordentown. It is a small tavern with homemade bar food, including vegetarian and vegan options, and sandwiches named for people from Bordentown's history. Its site lists live music, an open mic night on the second Wednesday and trivia on the third Thursday of the month. Posted hours are Wednesday to Friday from 2 p.m. and weekends from noon, to midnight, closed Monday and Tuesday. Details at HOB Tavern.

• Chickie's & Pete's, 183 Route 130, Bordentown: The Bordentown location of the Philadelphia sports bar chain, known for its Crabfries and seafood, with a signature bar, plenty of TVs and a private dining room. Hours and menu at Chickie's & Pete's.

• Killarney's Publick House, 1644 Whitehorse Mercerville Road, Hamilton Township (Mercer County): An Irish pub with a full menu. Its posted hours run to 2 a.m. most nights, which makes it one of the later options in the area. Menu and hours at Killarney's Publick House.

• Cooper's Riverview, 50 Riverview Plaza, Trenton: A restaurant and music venue on the Delaware River waterfront with live bands, DJ nights and private events. Its fall 2026 calendar includes a weekly Wednesday open band jam and tribute bands. Events at Cooper's Riverview.

• Tindall Road Brewing Co., 102 Farnsworth Avenue, Suite 110, Bordentown City: A craft brewery taproom pouring its own beers, with events and a rotating schedule of food vendors. Tap list and calendar at Tindall Road Brewing Co.

• Iron Plow Vineyards, Columbus (Mansfield Township): A boutique farm winery in Burlington County with wine flights, wine and chocolate pairings and live music on weekends. Posted hours are Thursday noon to 6 p.m., Friday and Saturday noon to 10 p.m. and Sunday noon to 6 p.m. Outside food is allowed, and groups of 10 or more need a reservation. • Marcello's Bordentown, 206 Farnsworth Avenue, Bordentown City: An Italian restaurant known for its wood-fired pizza, with classic Italian dishes, craft cocktails and beer from its own in-house brewery, Coaled Roots Brewing. Posted hours are Monday to Thursday 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., Friday and Saturday 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. and Sunday noon to 9 p.m. Details at Marcello's Bordentown.

Late Nights and Getting Home

Most of the places above close by 11 p.m. or midnight. Killarney's in Hamilton posts hours to 2 a.m. most nights, and Cooper's Riverview books music on weekend nights. Because the River LINE generally stops running around 10 p.m. except on Saturdays, a late night usually means a designated driver or a rideshare home. Check each venue's hours before you head out, especially on holidays.

Living Near Florence's Evening Spots

If you want to walk to a taproom, the Florence section around Second Street and Front Street puts Subculture and the township's riverfront within a few blocks.
