Oceanic is an unincorporated community on the north side of Rumson, along the Navesink River. It holds most of Rumson's businesses, mainly along Bingham Avenue (County Route 8A) and River Road. Oceanic was also one of the earlier names for Rumson itself, and the State Plan recognizes the historic Oceanic Village as a critical environmental and historic site.

Bingham Avenue leads straight onto the Oceanic Bridge, a 2,712-foot, 57-span steel bascule bridge built in 1939 as a Depression-era public works project. It crosses the Navesink River to Locust Point in Middletown.

Getting Around: River Road And Rumson Road
Rumson Road (County Route 520) is the main road and reaches the Garden State Parkway at Exit 109, about 4 miles west. NJ Transit trains stop nearby at Little Silver and Red Bank, and SeaStreak ferries to Manhattan leave from Atlantic Highlands.

If you've decided that you are buying or selling your home, your first thought when choosing a realtor is probably "who do I know?". You want a realtor who has some kind of connection to you, in the hopes that they will, actually, look out for your best interest. I hired Dennis in the summer of 2025, to sell my house and help me into a new one. It wasn't an easy sale and my needs in a new house, were complicated at best. Dennis attacked this situation with serious energy and a critical attention to detail. My home sold pretty quickly and by October we were ready to wrap everything up. We loaded everything we owned into a truck and headed to the closing, but the best laid plans are laid to waste. There was an issue with the home I was buying, due to an error on the seller's part. What were we supposed to do now? When it became clear that we were stuck and with no place to stay, Dennis stepped in and set us up with temporary lodging near the new house. We were there for a few days while the issue was corrected. To this day whenever my son and I drive past that hotel, we wave to the "old house". I'm told that these snags are common in real estate transactions. You know what's not common? Your realtor going way out of the way to make sure you're ok at every step of the process.
