Eatontown is a Monmouth County borough at the crossroads of Routes 35 and 36, bordered by Shrewsbury, Oceanport, West Long Branch, Ocean Township and Tinton Falls. It is named for Thomas Eaton, who built a grist mill around 1670 in what is now Wampum Lake Park, and it grew as a village along the old stagecoach road between New York and Philadelphia.

The U.S. Army's Fort Monmouth operated here from 1917 until 2011, and its land across Eatontown, Tinton Falls and Oceanport is being redeveloped under a state reuse plan. The borough hosts a fall Community Day at Wolcott Park. Homes cover a wide range: detached single-family houses, townhouses, apartment buildings and some mobile homes.
