Holmdel Village At A Glance
Holmdel Village is a crossroads settlement that grew up where two early routes met in the 18th century, along today's Main Street (County Route 520). Gordon's Gazetteer of 1834 described the hamlet, then also called Baptisttown, as eight dwellings, two stores, a church and an academy. After Holmdel became a separate township in 1857, the village became its principal center, and by the late 1800s it had about 20 dwellings, a hotel, a steam saw mill, a carriage shop, a shoe shop, two stores, a post office and a school.

Known For National Register Landmarks
Two properties at the village crossroads are on the National Register of Historic Places: the complex at 40 Main Street, with an early 19th-century meeting house, an 1886 to 1887 hall, an 1882 Victorian Gothic parsonage and an 18th to 19th century cemetery, and the 1838 Greek Revival building at 41 Main Street, at the corner of Holmdel-Keyport Road.

Getting Around: Parkway Exits 114 And 116

If you've decided that you are buying or selling your home, your first thought when choosing a realtor is probably "who do I know?". You want a realtor who has some kind of connection to you, in the hopes that they will, actually, look out for your best interest. I hired Dennis in the summer of 2025, to sell my house and help me into a new one. It wasn't an easy sale and my needs in a new house, were complicated at best. Dennis attacked this situation with serious energy and a critical attention to detail. My home sold pretty quickly and by October we were ready to wrap everything up. We loaded everything we owned into a truck and headed to the closing, but the best laid plans are laid to waste. There was an issue with the home I was buying, due to an error on the seller's part. What were we supposed to do now? When it became clear that we were stuck and with no place to stay, Dennis stepped in and set us up with temporary lodging near the new house. We were there for a few days while the issue was corrected. To this day whenever my son and I drive past that hotel, we wave to the "old house".
