Mantoloking is a small borough in Ocean County on the Barnegat Peninsula, the narrow barrier island between the Atlantic Ocean and Barnegat Bay, with Bay Head to the north and Brick Township to the south and across the bay. It covers about 0.39 square miles of land, and nearly 40 percent of the borough is water. It became a borough in 1911 and is a dry town.

Homes here are almost all single-family houses, many on the oceanfront or the bayfront, and some of the older summer cottages were designed by Stanford White. The Mantoloking Yacht Club sits on the bay, and the Mantoloking Bridge carries County Route 528 across to the mainland. Much of the borough was rebuilt after Hurricane Sandy damaged about 90 percent of its properties in 2012.
