Monmouth Beach is a small shore borough in Monmouth County, about a square mile of land between the Atlantic Ocean on the east and the Shrewsbury River on the northwest, next to Sea Bright, Long Branch, Oceanport, Rumson and Little Silver. Settled in 1668 and grown up around the railroad, it became a borough in 1906.

The town is mostly homes, known for its Victorian houses alongside newer, larger ones. On the ocean side are two beach clubs, the Monmouth Beach Bathing Pavilion and the Monmouth Beach Bath and Tennis Club, plus public access points at Cottage Road, Central Road and Seacrest Road; on the river side there is sailing, kayaking and fishing. Long Branch's Pier Village and West End restaurants are next door.
