Pine Beach is a small Ocean County borough of about 0.64 square miles on the north shore of the Toms River, between Beachwood and Berkeley Township, looking across the water to Island Heights. It began as a planned resort: on Easter Sunday 1909 a train brought the first prospective lot buyers, and the borough was incorporated in 1925.

Life here runs along the river. The borough keeps a river beach, docks for fishing and crabbing, a boat ramp and pickleball courts, and Vista Park added an inclusive playground in 2026. The Pine Beach Yacht Club, in a clubhouse first built in 1916, runs sailboat racing and junior sailing, and the riverfront was once home to the Admiral Farragut Academy, a naval prep school that operated here from 1933 to 1994.
