Howell Township, Monmouth County, NJ
Dennis Mark Interdonato is a Realtor® and Master CDRE® who leads The Dennis Mark Group at Keller Williams Realty Ocean Living. Howell is his hometown: he grew up in Ramtown, in the southeast corner of the township. In his words, “There’s not much that I don’t know about Howell.”
Since January 2024 he has sold 8 homes in Howell, 2 of them at $850,000 and up, including his highest-priced sale in that time: $1,650,000, for a buyer relocating from out of state. Most of his clients are move-up homeowners selling one home and buying the next, and a growing share are luxury buyers and sellers.
He has also been in construction since 2003, including jobs in Howell, so he knows the houses, the lots and the trades as well as the market. Howell is a big township, about 60 square miles, with public sewer in some sections and septic systems in others, so it’s worth knowing which a home has before anyone makes an offer.

Why Dennis Mark
As he puts it: “I take listings so that I can sell them for my clients. I don’t take them so they can sit on the market.”
Luxury
Howell’s median sale price for 2026 through September was $660,000, and Dennis Mark has sold two Howell homes at $850,000 and up since 2024. At that price, buyers expect the home to be presented like it costs what it costs.
A luxury listing with Dennis Mark gets professional photography, video and drone, social media ads, an invited twilight open house filmed for more marketing, a preview hour for the neighbors before the public open house, and an upgrades list that shows buyers exactly what’s been done to the home, from brand-name appliances to custom finishes.
Luxury buyers get the legwork done first: a video tour before you walk through, and a call to the listing agent before an offer goes in, so your offer lands with someone who already knows who you are. See Luxury Homes.
The market snapshot on this page updates each month from the MLS. In September 2026, the Howell homes that sold spent a median of 29 days on the market, 70 homes sold, and 206 were for sale, a little over 3 months of supply.
Howell’s median sale price for 2026 through September was $660,000, up from $645,000 in the same months of 2025. Howell runs from condos and townhomes to homes on acreage, so your number comes from your home’s own comparable sales. Start with a market evaluation, not an online estimate. What’s My Home Worth?
It adds a step. Parts of Howell are on public sewer and other sections use septic systems, and buyers of a septic home usually have the system inspected. Knowing what your home has before it lists means nothing about it surprises a buyer.
Yes. He builds one plan for both: what your home sells for, what you can buy, and how the two closings line up. An offer above market value on one of his listings has to cover any appraisal gap up front, so a low appraisal doesn’t sink the sale your purchase depends on. Selling and Buying at the Same Time
On the market, not on hope. He prices from comparable sales and his read of where its buyers will come from, then markets it to those buyers. That’s how a one-of-a-kind log-cabin-style home near the Howell and Freehold border sold at its full list price.
For tax year 2025, the average residential tax bill in Howell Township was $9,885, against a Monmouth County average of $11,664. The effective tax rate was 1.708. Any one home’s bill depends on its assessment. Source: NJ Division of Taxation.
Howell Township Public Schools runs pre-K through grade 8. High school is in the Freehold Regional High School District, where Howell students attend Howell High School, Freehold Township High School or Colts Neck High School, depending on their address. Confirm the assignment with the district for any home you’re considering.
Howell is inland. The Point Pleasant Beach boardwalk is about 11 miles in a straight line from the center of the township. Inside Howell, the 770-acre Manasquan Reservoir, part of a 1,381-acre Monmouth County Park System site, has fishing, boating and trails.
Yes, by bus. NJ TRANSIT routes 139 and 132 run to the Port Authority Bus Terminal from the Aldrich Road and Route 9 at Strickland Road park and rides, which are for Howell residents. By car, Interstate 195 has two Howell exits; the Garden State Parkway doesn’t pass through the township.

The Record
