Brielle is a small Monmouth County borough on the Manasquan River, and its restaurants reflect that: seafood on the docks, a marina bar with live music, and a string of Italian places, pizzerias and breakfast spots along Union Avenue. Exploring the Culinary Delights
Brielle's dining falls into two areas. The waterfront restaurants sit by the marinas on Green Avenue, Ashley Avenue and Union Lane, and most of the everyday places line Union Avenue, the borough's main business street along with Higgins Avenue. The Manasquan River Golf Club is in Brielle too. Several restaurants change their hours with the season, so call ahead before you make a special trip.
Mouthwatering Recommendations
Waypoint 622, 622 Green Avenue: A waterfront restaurant with an outdoor deck and patio bar overlooking the Manasquan River and Hoffman's Marina. It replaced Union Landing at this spot. The raw bar has oysters, clams and shrimp cocktail, and the menu includes a lobster-and-shrimp roll and lemon halibut. It has a full liquor license and serves Sunday brunch.
Shipwreck Grill, 720 Ashley Avenue: A chef-driven seafood restaurant with a full bar. The current menu includes tuna tartare, crab cakes and a halibut entree, and all desserts are made on site.
Casual Dining and Social Hotspots
The Pig & Parrot, 201 Union Lane: A waterfront bar and restaurant on the Brielle docks, in the spot that used to be the Sandbar. It has a Key West feel, with marina-side seating, live music, tacos, coconut shrimp salad, salmon with mango salsa, margaritas and sangria.
Rella's Italian Tavern, 601 Union Avenue: An Italian tavern on Union Avenue with online ordering for pickup.
Jimmy's Cucina, 301 Union Avenue: A pizza and Italian spot open since 2011, with Sicilian and gluten-free pizza, hot and cold subs on Joe Leone's rolls, pasta and chicken entrees and wings. It also does catering and delivery.
Romantic Dinners and Special Occasions
Shipwreck Grill and Waypoint 622, above, are Brielle's two sit-down seafood dinners, and Waypoint 622 adds a deck overlooking the marina.

Starting the Day Right
Brielle Bagels, 204 Union Avenue: A woman-owned, family-run bagel shop that bakes fresh daily and opens at 6 a.m. Breakfast sandwiches, omelets and a blueberry French toast bagel are on the menu.
Mariner's Cove, 712 Union Avenue: A breakfast and lunch restaurant known for its omelet list, with more than 250 combinations, including a Jersey omelet with pork roll. Waffles and crepes are on the menu too.
Brielle packs a lot into a small borough, with the river on one side and Union Avenue running through the middle.
