Hasbrouck Heights is a small Bergen County borough, and most of its restaurants sit along one street: the Boulevard. In a few blocks you can find Greek, Thai, Italian, Persian, Nepali and Japanese cooking, a breakfast counter, a pub and a bakery. I'm Dennis Mark Interdonato with Keller Williams Realty Ocean Living, and when I help buyers look at a town, where they will eat on a Tuesday night matters as much as the kitchen in the house. Here is a look at places on the Boulevard that were open when this guide was updated in September 2026.
Exploring the Culinary Delights
The Boulevard is the main street of Hasbrouck Heights, running through the middle of town with shops, restaurants and the Municipal Building at 320 Boulevard. Several of the restaurants below are BYOB, so it is worth checking before you go. Hours change, and small restaurants open and close, so call ahead before you make a special trip.
Mouthwatering Recommendations
Sofia's Mediterranean Grill, 220 Boulevard: A Greek restaurant that opened in 2012 in the former Maria's Kitchen space. Dishes diners mention include moussaka, spanakopita, gyro sandwiches, shrimp saganaki, grilled octopus and baklava. It is BYOB.
Tom Yum Koong Thai Kitchen, 305 Boulevard: A Thai kitchen at the north end of the Boulevard's restaurant stretch. Pad thai with chicken and shrimp is a regular recommendation, and the menu also includes curries, fried rice and dumplings. It is closed Mondays.
Casual Dining and Social Hotspots
Heights Bar & Grill, 163 Boulevard: A bar and grill known locally for its pizza and burgers. It keeps late hours, open until midnight most nights and until 2 a.m. Thursday through Saturday.
KTB Coffee Shop & Lounge, 183 Boulevard: A coffee shop with barista drinks, homemade baked goods, breakfast sandwiches, wraps and smoothies. A good stop for a coffee meeting or a lunch sandwich.
Romantic Dinners and Special Occasions
The Risotto House, 203 Boulevard: An Italian BYOB from the team behind the original Risotto House in Rutherford. As the name says, risotto is the focus, along with pasta, veal, chicken and fish prepared fresh daily. The dining room fills up on weekend evenings, so larger groups should call ahead.
Starting the Day Right
Fisher's Cafe, 245 Boulevard: A breakfast and lunch spot that has been on the Boulevard for decades, known for egg platters, pancakes and classic breakfast dishes. It opens early and closes in the afternoon.
Two Ladies Bakery North, 446 Boulevard: A pastry shop with cream puffs, eclairs, nut cookies, cannoli, mosaic slices and macarons. Pick up a box for the office or for Sunday dinner.
Global Flavors, Local Charm
Zaffron Bloom, 194 Boulevard: A family-owned Persian restaurant that describes its food as modern Persian cuisine with a Mediterranean twist. Saffron runs through the menu, and the kabobs and tahdig, the crispy rice from the bottom of the pot, are what people come for.
Himalaya on Heights, 313 Boulevard: Nepali and Indian cooking, including momos (Himalayan dumplings), chow mein, curries, biryani and tandoori chicken, plus boba tea.
Oishi Sushi, 223 Boulevard: A Japanese restaurant serving sushi, ramen and kitchen entrees. It is BYOB and is the second location of a restaurant that started in Hackensack.
Worth the Short Drive
A couple of well-known spots are close by, in neighboring towns:
Justin's Ristorante II, 269 Hackensack Street, Wood-Ridge: A family-run BYOB serving classic Northern Italian cuisine, with catering and private-party space.
Clemente Bakery, 120 Leuning Street, South Hackensack: An Italian bakery and deli open since 1974 and now run by three generations of the family, known for brick oven breads, fresh mozzarella, cookies and its Easter bread.
Hasbrouck Heights packs a lot of choice onto one main street, and many of these restaurants are within walking distance of the homes on the streets around the Boulevard. If you are thinking about buying or selling in Hasbrouck Heights, I'm Dennis Mark Interdonato, and I'm glad to talk through the town with you, from the Boulevard to the quieter blocks around it.
